Even for veteran notaries, it's often difficult to keep track of the proper language that is required when notarizing a person's signature. While notaries are not expected to draft documents, it is beneficial to know the lingo so you're not caught off-guard at you're next signing.
Our One-Page Reference Guide was drafted specifically for Kentucky notaries and we're happy to share it with our bluegrass notarial colleagues.
The one-page document includes the statutory certificates for an individual acknowledgement, acknowledgments for a corporation and partnership, acknowledgement for an attorney-in-fact acting under a power of attorney and an acknowledgment for representative capacity.
We also included a list of the required elements of a Kentucky notary certificate, a list of acceptable forms of identity according to statute and important reminders on taking acknowledgements and administering an oath.
It's as handy as a pocket on a shirt, or well, maybe as handy as a one-page reference guide in your notary bag! Hope you like it – give us some feedback in the comments – thanks!
